Battery matching · Indooroopilly workshop
E-bike will not turn on, will not charge, cuts out or has lost range? Use the safe symptom checker below, send the bike and battery details for a replacement match, or book a $25 electrical diagnosis when the fault is unclear.
60-second symptom check
Choose the closest symptom for a safe next step. This does not diagnose the bike and never asks you to open a battery, controller or wiring loom.
Replacement matching
Voltage is only the first check. A safe replacement must also match the physical case, mounting rail, connector and pinout, battery-management system, current rating, charger and lock.
Message us the bike brand, model and year plus clear photos of the full bike, battery label, case, rail, connector and charger label.
We identify the electrical and physical fit, then confirm current availability, an order path and price. We will not suggest a generic substitute from voltage alone.
Wait for our reply before coming to Indooroopilly. Batteries are not shown as in stock unless the exact compatible unit is confirmed for your bike.
Replacement or repair?
Send the label, mount and connector photos. We will check whether a compatible replacement can be supplied or ordered and confirm the price before you travel.
Book the $25 battery and motor check. We test battery health, wiring and the electrical system before recommending a repair, replacement or specialist next step.
Symptoms we assess
Clear symptoms help us reproduce the fault and choose the right diagnostic path.
Not charging, charger light behaving differently, or the battery never reaching the expected level.
Assistance stops under load, on hills, over bumps or at a particular battery level.
The same route now uses much more charge, or the battery indicator falls unusually quickly.
The display powers on but the motor does not respond, responds intermittently or shows an error.
Visible connector damage, a cable pulled near the handlebars or an intermittent electrical fault.
Start with the check. We separate battery, motor, controller and wiring symptoms before quoting further work.
What $25 covers
We assess battery health, wiring and the motor system, then explain what we found. If more work or a part is needed, you receive the price and likely timing before it starts.
Scope: Leon Cycle lists us as an NCM partner dealer, and we also assess other compatible rear-hub e-bikes. Add the make, model and a photo to your booking so we can confirm fit before you travel.

Prepare for the check
A fault can sit in the battery, motor, display, controller, sensor, connector or wiring. The full bike lets us test the system together.
If charging or range is the problem, bring the charger normally used with the battery. Never substitute a charger that was not designed for it.
Include the make, model, battery key, display error code, when the fault happens and any recent impact or water exposure.
NCM’s owner manual also tells riders to bring the battery key for maintenance or repairs. Read the NCM owner manual.
Battery safety first
Stop using it if it is swollen, leaking, overheating, cracked, hissing or giving off an unusual smell. Queensland Fire Department guidance says not to charge a damaged battery and to call Triple Zero if there is immediate danger.
Before you book

A no-power symptom can come from the battery, display, battery mount, connector, controller, sensor or wiring. Check only that an undamaged battery is seated, locked and externally switched on and that visible plugs are connected. Do not open the battery or controller. Bring the complete bike, battery, key and charger for diagnosis.
The cause may be the battery, charger, charge port, connector or battery-management system. Use only the correct approved charger, note its indicator light and do not open the pack or try a different-voltage charger. Stop immediately if the battery is hot, swollen, leaking, cracked, hissing or smells unusual.
We can check compatible replacement options after identifying the exact bike, battery case, rail, connector and electrical system. Send photos and the model details first. We will confirm current availability, ordering options and price before you travel; we do not represent a battery as in stock unless it is confirmed.
Send the bike brand, model and year plus clear photos of the battery label, case, mounting rail, connector and charger label. Voltage alone is not enough: the case, rail, connector, pinout, battery-management system, current rating, charger and lock must be compatible.
No, not as a direct substitute. Do not change voltage unless the complete electrical system was designed or formally approved for that voltage by the manufacturer or a qualified specialist. An incompatible battery or charger can damage the bike and create a fire risk.
We first diagnose battery health, wiring and the motor system for $25. After inspection, we explain whether we can complete the repair, source a suitable NCM part or whether specialist battery work is required. Extra work is quoted before it begins.
Bring the complete bike, battery, battery key and its usual charger. Add the make, model, symptoms and any display error code to the booking.
Yes. Leon Cycle lists us as an NCM partner dealer, and we also assess other compatible rear-hub e-bikes. Share the make, model and a photo when booking so we can confirm whether we can help.
No. Do not charge or transport a battery that is swollen, leaking, overheating, hissing, cracked or giving off an unusual smell. Follow Queensland Fire Department advice and call Triple Zero if there is immediate danger.
